    Goodmorning!  Skol Vikings!!
In both Payroll 2.19.4 and 2.20 with all 3 fixes, customer is trying to enter new State Unemployment Rates and in some states (KS, MI) they have an add'l column for No Wage Cap or Alternate Wage Cap.  When we enter the line, it doesn't let us accept it, indicating 'Alternate Wage Cap is Required'.  Doesn't matter if I check the boxes or not.  I have to cancel to get out.
How do I get around this?  Where is the Alternate Wage Cap field to enter the amount for that state?
    Is this a bug?

    Thanks

I checked the check box for Alternate Wage Cap in my Michigan setup and it took it.  You don't have to enter the cap anywhere - for Michigan, for example, the cap is either 9000 or 9500 (if you are a delinquent employer) so I am ASSUMING that Sage knows the two numbers and applies them based on the check box being checked, or not.

    Thanks Beth
Did you try it on an existing line?  Can you do me a favor and try to add a new line and see if it still takes it?
    Thanks

I added a new line and it was still a happy camper and let me Accept it.

Looks like @Beth Bowers has the answer.  I wish Sage would have indicated that changing the IL setup would allow the data entry to continue.  I am reluctant to make changes to the default setup when I don't know the implications.  We certainly don't want UC tax to be calculated after the wage cap is exceeded!

I called Sage about this issue on Tuesday.  I needed to add an Il UC rate change beginning 1/1/2020 and received the same message.

I talked to Ryan at Sage about the IL unemployment insurance wage limit issue we discussed (support case# 8007920065).  He said the limit is kept on a cloud server and is not maintained in Sage 100.  He also mentioned that the message that was displaying in payroll setup, company tax group maintenance, "The Alternate wage cap is required" is only applicable to Rhode Island and another state, not Illinois.

I created a new record in PR_CompanyTaxGroupRates.M4T by modifying the 1/1/2019 record and answering "No" to delete the existing record.

Thanks Doug, I will probably need to do that for each of the Customer's Payroll Companies.
Thank you Beth for taking the time to try it again.
Weird that it works on Beth's system and not Mine and Doug's.
