Some of you may have already heard, for other like me it was news.  Today is Joe Bisaha' first day, working for Sage Intacct. His official title is:  Principal Product Manager for Supply Chain Management Intacct.  (not sure how that fits on a business card).  He is responsible for helping build out all the modules and the supply change management division.  He said he would update his LinkedIn Profile soon.  I'm curious to hear what our own RKL eSolutions Team think about this; knowing that they are trying to grow the Distribution and Manufacturing Functions of that product.  Wishing Joe Good Luck.

I didn't think he was the kind of guy who would be happy in retirement.  Best of luck, Joe!

IMO, for Sage Intacct to take off beyond core accounting they’re going to need to build added features vs tell customers to pay Intacct $20k/year then pay a third-party another $k per year for WMS.

Hopefully this is on Sage Intacct’s long and winding roadmap for WMS. I say this because it seems Intacct has been announcing WMS as coming soon for as long as I can remember.

I base this also on looking at the conference agenda from Advantage. I think at most they had one or two WMS sessions.

My personal ( probably wrong ) opinion is most companies running warehouse systems don’t care cloud, on-prem, etc. They care that their warehouse can pick and pack before the carrier hits the loading dock at 4:30 pm that day.

So perhaps we will see some bolt on WMS. The problem is that Sage trying to tackle the worldwide market always seems spread too thin with too little common goal in mind.

@Wayne Schulz  Is the Intacct WMS solution going to be a third party add-on? Is it ScanForce?  Intacct has a base configuration and if you subscribe / enable a feature they send you a bill and increase the subscription cost.  I'm not sure whether the WMS is a native Intacct app or a third-party add-on the subscription price would make a difference in the price.  Currently positive pay is an add-on from Wipflli, there is an AMEX ACH, payroll, and hundreds of other "market place" add-ons.

If the WMS solution is ScanForce I would be impressed.  I have had great experiences implementing ScanForce solutions.  There may be a few features that I would like to see added, but from a tech support, stability, and ease of use perspective, I think it could be a home run for Intacct.

I don't know what Intacct may be planning. I'm only making observations and providing some feedback.
Improving warehouse management has been a long term stated goal of Intacct.

Hi everyone, so glad this conversation is happening! IMO Taylor MacDonald has been pretty clear that Intacct is not trying to do all the things a little bit, but rather taking a best of breed approach. I talked with Steve Showalter about this, and he wrote the response below. Ultimately he's excited to talk to any of you who want to learn more about what Intacct does/doesn't offer around inventory and what ScanForce does to round out the solution!

Thanks for the mention in the comments! Great news is that we do have a WMS for Intacct that was released in November of 2019. We've continued to build on our offering over the past year + and have continually been encouraged by the improvements and additions that Intacct has made to the Inventory Module. The solution is extremely flexible to handle all inventory workflows and processes. From Pick, Pack, Ship to Bin Locations and much more our solution leverages the Intacct Inventory Module. We've brought a seamlessly integrated WMS to the Intacct market that continues the ScanForce true mobility of functioning when connected and disconnected…a true hybrid. – Steve 305-370-3377 steve@scanforce.com

Sorry I'm using WMS as shorthand for the SO, IM, PO modules that would be native to Sage Intacct in much the same way that Sage 100 has those modules which can be used as-is or extended with additional WMS. It did not seem based on observation of the various conferences and sessions that Intacct had a lot for native SO, IM and PO functionality.
