I feel like at this point we have three types of members:
1. Consulting on Sage 100 directly for customers they are ROR
2. ISVs who resell through consultants
3. Consultants who are certified Sage 100 but do little direct Sage 100 consulting and are primarily in the business of selling another product or service through referrals
My opinion has always been that #1 qualifies to apply for consultant membership and #2 and #3 qualify to apply for affiliate membership
The danger we've had with #3 is that if we allow in ISV as consultants it definitely IMO interferes with with the groups ability to attract affiliates in that area.
Some prior examples include CRM, Payments, Cloud Hosting
With respect to iLogicLab specifically they have advertised that they are going to consult through consultants. This sounds to me like it's going to be an ISV type relationship and they are going to foster referral relationships.
Once you open the barn door - it is impossible to get the horses back in.
Perhaps one solution is you create a "consultants to the profession" membership category that prices somewhere between consultant and ISV and allows for that type of member to have access to the same areas as consultants but at a higher rate to account for the fact that there's definitely a marketing/sales aspect to that membership in the same way as an ISV member.
