    Hi
Customer is on 2019.  Customer A owns Sage and company code MAS_xxx.  Customer A is no longer going to be involved in xxx so Customer B bought their own version of Sage and now is trying to move just MAS_XXX to their install.  Getting the Encryption Key is invalid.  I can't migrate as I don't want all Customer A's setup/settings.
How do I move MAS_XXX to Customer B's environment?
    Both are on 2019.
    Thanks
    N

I have a theory, but it is completely untested:
    • In the admin console, there is an option to set an encryption key.  Create a copy of the source system's MAS90 folder, log in to the copy and type in a new key.
    • Assuming that doesn't break the source data (?!?), set the same key in the destination system.
    • Copy...

If that is not what this feature is for, I have no ideas.

Or use the destination key in the source data copy.

@Bob Sosbee can you elaborate what you mean by 'use destination key in the source' ?

Nancy's issue is one of the scenarios I have been dreading since this was introduced.

The portability of Sage 100 and the data has been one of my favorite things about this product...

I would love to see a way to restore this portability for things like this (and simply moving demo data around in your own lab!)

    Howdy, Eric!

    Sure.

Using DFDM, go into sy_company,  find the AES Encryption key for one of the current companies in the destination system.    I never bother with the "Change encryption keys" program, I just create the new company in the destination system, copy in the data, then grab the encryption key from a good company in and paste it into the AES encryption field of the new company.  Comes right up.

For version 610 (and maybe 600), you will also need to go into the G/L options for a known good company and do the same for data encryption test.  That handles the PII stuff.  I think Payroll is like G/L, but I haven't fiddled with it.

Had to work this out so our consultants can grab customer data for reports and such, or so we can test weird issues customers are reporting.
