Need help with an Access PTQ. I can't get the connection to work for some reason. Here is my connection string: ODBC;DSN=SOTAMAS90;COMPANY=BWT;UID=sslavin;PWD=XXX;Directory=C:\Sage\MAS 90\Version4.5.STANDARD\MAS90\;SERVER=NotTheServer I confirmed that the Directory setting is the same as that in the Database directory in the SOTAMAS90 ODBC DSN defined in the 32 bit ODBC manager. I get the Table is not accessible (#12) when I run the select statement (SELECT * FROM AP_VEND). I've done this hundreds of times. Just loaded a new instance of 4.5 to work on a client development project and now no love. Thanks for the help and Happy Easter.

Is Allow External Access enabled for company BWT? Is ODBC security enabled?

Did you use AP_VEND or AP_VENDOR in the SQL stmt? Does a regular linked table query work

Is there a blank or bad record in the table in DFDM?

No help here sorry but I've had two customers with similar issues and I have no idea what the root cause is/was. One of them runs the queries quarterly and the error sporadically occurs - and disappears. In one instance I had luck creating a fresh new ODBC DSN and replacing the SOTAMAS90 with that name.

Give the prize to @MarkKotyla on this one. He did a great job pointing me in the right direction. 'Allow External Access' was turned off at the company level and the 'Enable C/S ODBC Driver' was not turned on at the user level. The funny thing is that I could open the table through ODBC with a linked table but I could not open the table via a PTQ. To make things more interesting, I went back in after getting things to work, turned the switches off, and the PTQ continued to work. I can't explain it but it's working so I'm moving forward. Thanks to all of your for your help on this Easter Day. I hope you all took the opportunity to spend it with your families.

Sometimes we get so focused on looking for the needle that we overlook the haystack entirely. Has happened to me more than I care to think about. Hopefully, you didn't get too much Easter egg on your face....
