My client exports a custom Crystal Report to Excel. The report exports to Excel just fine, but when you try to use the Subtotals feature on the Data tab in Excel it won't show the the 123 (+) Show and (-) Hide SIGNS +/- buttons on the left hand side like a normal Excel sheet does. I thought I would share the resolution as it took me awhile to find it:
1.Display the Excel Options dialog box. (In Excel 2007 click the Office button and then click Excel Options. In Excel 2010 display the File tab of the ribbon and click Options.)
2.Click Advanced at the left side of the dialog box.
3.Scroll through the available options until you get to the Display Options for This Worksheet group.
4.Clear the Show Outline Symbols if an Outline is Applied check box.
5.Click on OK.
