Kevin's link to a 90 Minds thread on MSI is still quite relevant. To be blunt, if a 3rd party had a sketchy integration with Sage 100 a year ago, Sage has certainly given them NO reason to improve it. Sage has made clear that Sage 100 is not a major avenue to the future for solutions like MSI, who have serious focus on growth segments like service.
Service and Field Service needs are continuing to grow among existing Sage 100 customers. With the exception of JobOps, there really wasn't much satisfying out there. JobOps/Ops Mgt is still a good option for the right customers. the others should take a hard look at Timelinx.
I've promoted Timelinx before, and continue to, because it's been honing its service and project management workflows for 2 decades. All service companies or arms of companies have processes that are quite similar -- but different. So they need a solution with structure AND flexibility. They also need to easily handle customer communications, scheduling, delivery/completion details, technician t&m, AND appropriate GL integration. MSI might have the first of these, but the last one has been weak for years -- and shows no sign of changing.
Timelinx recently announced a disconnected mobile client. This is a BFD for most field service organizations because internet access is often not available at a job site.
Also, Timelinx is a 90 Minds Affiliate. We should at least consider
researching affiliates as part of a due diligence.
@Jeffery Gregorec is pretty good at answering customer questions & concerns, and at adding context to them.
So, instead of checking up on MSI, it's time to tell the customer, "The service solution industry has changed a lot in the past decade. How about we do a (paid) exploration project together to find you the best solution to make you more money in this, whether it's with Sage 100 or a different system?"
