MRP - Projected Demands - Can anyone offer any input on how to load projected demands for the current year. The help screens speak to closing the year in MRP after closing inventory but I cannot seem to make this work. I know I have dealt with this in the past but it surfaces so randomly that I am struggling with how to handle.

I recall having to set the year back and load it into future year?? Then set the year forward? It was something odd like that and like you I do this once every 10 or so years so it's not first on my mind of how I made it work. @DebThomas probably will have better advice.

I'm by no means a ""regular"" when it comes to the MRP module, but wouldn't you get your desired ""Qty Projected THIS YEAR"" by entering the demand in the ""prior year"" record?

I have used vi to import them in. The program only seems to be designed to input next year forecast. Major flaw my book.

@HowardFinestone, loading the current year projections require that you load the information against the months in the ""previous year"". The field is called ""Qty Projected next Year"". So to put demand into 2013, you need to fill in that field where the Period Start Date field are 2012 dates. EG: Jan 2012 enter Qty Projected Next Year for Jan 2013.

I have had success using quotes in sales order. Set up a fake customer and create quotes. Use the promise date for the lines to manage the month for the demand.

Wow! Thanks for everyones input. I am a certified numbskull! When you launch the Projected Demands Screen it defaults to the current period (5/31/03 in XYZ) and displays the subsequent months (all in 2003) only allowing entries into the ""Next Year"" Field. What I didn't notice is that you can simply scroll up the screen to the prior year listing of months (2002) in which you can populate the ""Next Year"" field for 2003. DUH!! I thought it was only displaying one year of data! I apologize for my ignornace!!
