MOTM 2016 Agenda Review As I plan for this years meeting, here are my top 10 thoughts on the conference. 1. The agenda appears to be bigger and better than ever. Give thanks to all those who plan, coordinate, cajole and conceive the sessions. Then thank @ThereseLogeais again. 2. The Sage 100 closed door meeting is another improvement on last years content. Great idea, and a good representation by Sage. 3. Why is the deep dive into 100 and 100c one of the shortest sessions? 4. I wonder if @JeffSchwenk Schwenk will have new colors this year? 5. The pairing of business and technical sessions very well done. Almost no ""sheet, do I have to miss that one"" and only one double vendor session. 6. DO NOT MISS THE DINNER CRUISE. How often do you get to see @JohnHoyt Hoyt silly? 7. Selling 100c is also a short discussion.... hmmm 8. Looking forward to Saturday night dinner Another new and interesting concept. @JimWoodhead is social coordinator extraordinaire. 9. Can we get a panel discussion for @JeffSchwenk @MarkChinsky @JerryNorman and @PeterWolf. It really would not need a topic, just get them started with politics and watch them go. Perhaps for evening entertainment? 10. Wayne... say no more. I look forward to seeing you all!

The first 15 minutes of the Road Map were introductions and jokes....

Now we are talking in generic terms that any member of 90 Minds knows. We want subscription, more penetration = more value, and value based pricing.... Looking for reasonable ways to increase pricing through value based pricing

Time to milk the Clients who feel they already paid for the system.

Almost halfway through and nothing said about what they are going to do other than theory....

They are having conversations with key parts of eco-system. Are they listening or just talking, like this session?

What a spin - being a desktop application is our differentiator!

I am going to ask a question. If I am a customer in an elevator with you and I ask the question of why should I buy Sage 100 over any competitor what would the answer be? They have forgotten why poeple bought MAS 90 in the first place.

Truthfully, I believe the majority of our customers still want Sage 100 as a desktop application. They may host the servers, but they are more comfortable with the way it works on their PC. They don't necessarily want new bells and whistles just because they are presented to them.

OMG The road ahead has not been mapped and the data cloud is dead

Our customers have very little idea about the new pricing and do not care. We in this room are the ones complaining about all of the new stuff only we know about.

True, but they value the customer gets for the $ they spend is going down in comparison with the competition.

And they should get the new UI as part of those maintenance dollars PERIOD!

95+% of our customers on maintenance are happy with what they have, even with the higher amounts they pay for maintenance. Most will not take advantage of any new offerings and will be happy continuing on the current model. If I tell them and prove to them that going to 100c is the new model and they can continue to use the software the way they always have, they will do that and continue to be happy.

That is currently the only obstacle Sage has.

Simple solution which will happen - subscription rates will stay the same for years, but perpetual maintenance will increase and will no longer be economical over subscription.

Not sure how Sage 100c can be like SaaS. It would at least need to be accessible from a browser (which prospects ask about all the time) and hosted. When competing with real SaaS products, 100c will still cost more.

I still contend that we are arguing about things that our customers are not concerned about.
