90p Admin

We have removed the board and Moira from the Most Active Members listing in the front page to essentially give others besides Wayne a chance to show up.

​I am not sure what this means. Why should I not be recognized if I am active, and what does Wayne have to do with it? He isn't on the board.

Wayne doesn’t have anything to do with it really. Just pointing out he will always be there because of the level of his activity.

The rest of the list has almost completely been board members. The idea was that unless we are on the board for self serving reasons, we’d generally like to give the rest of the membership an opportunity to show up on the list and shine and because we are posting actively on the Admin group and the committees, it seems like that was an unfair advantage.

The decision came about when someone mentioned that the most active posters were almost all board and executive team members and that it would seem appropriate to not have those people appear in the list. Moira and I discussed the idea and agreed it made sense to let other members shine through.

@Robert Wood is correct.  The leader board is a gamification feature of HL to promote 'friendly' competition and highlight member activity.  Community participation is about the members and encouraging their participation allows the community to grow, increases engagement, and provides another step on a path to more active involvement in the community by a higher number of members. 

Community managers/boards/executive teams have an unfair advantage in the number of engagement points they earn due to the nature of their positions. 

Oh, by the way, I'd bump everyone off the leader board with my total 'points,' but since I use two logins, my 'points' are split between the two.

​I'm really not concerned about it. To be honest, I had forgotten the "leader board" was even there, since it's at the bottom of the Home page. I also never go to the Home page. I go directly to Browse Discussions, which is probably what 95% of the members do.
