More Debit Memos Coming From Sage

Sage is still at it - sending out "overpayment" debit memos.  Just received one for $900, saying that they overpaid us for the one BeanWorks client we have.  When we disputed it, Sage replied that they are now limiting the amount of commissions a reseller can have for their add-ons like BeanWorks.  OMG.

WHAT?!  Limiting the commissions?  Are they trying to make sure no one sells too much Sage stuff?  After all the pressure to cross sell solutions?

It might be only on AP Automation...but I believe this is just the start.  But – yes – here's the quote from the email we received:

"FYI, there is a margin cap on AP Automation."

How much did Sage allow?  Do you know the percent margin that works out to or is it just a flat x % up to a maximum of $ y?

I would love to explain it, but I haven't examined it enough to understand it.

In the meantime, the spreadsheet Sage sent shows that our client has $4592 in "Valid Fusion Billing".  The credit memo they originally sent to us was for $1469.44.  Then they took $895.44 of that back, leaving us with $574 in commission for the client.  And their explanation was that the cap on margin for AP Automation is 25%.  But the question is:  25% of what?  I haven't really delved into it yet, but I don't understand where that $574 number came from.

It looks like this is the calculation:
    4592 x 50% = 2296 x 25% = 574
    Don't ask me why...

Hey – thanks Therese!  I have no idea why that calculation is what it is either.  Fuzzy math in Sage's favor is all I can think of...

Outwardly Sage wants to be seen as a world leader in Accounting software.

Internally, it seems like they administer their own business with one of these.

LOL!  And, as you can see, the "partners" are on the left and Sage is on the right.  Maybe I can make it up in volume???

This is so disheartening @Sue Bennett, Sage is such a mess (and a huge joke).  Ugh!

We have one Beanworks customer.  I will let you know if we get dinged.

Cutting edge! I believe they all share one license of DocuSign and still have Fax as the secure way to send your credit card and bank info.
