More Atlas stupidity. Even SAP knew how to make the crappy SAP Portal solution work better than this... It appears a user needs to be a System Admin to run reports? How many years of implementation went into this???WTF

Yeah, I will definitely consider other products/publishers, but SAP is not one of them. What kills me is Sage has been trying to get it implemented for at least 4 years and can't do it, but they think they don't need a channel anymore.

Has Sage been implementing it internally? That's one thing that I have not gotten a straight answer on. Did they hire a firm? Did they sue those worthless lump of know-nothings for this project? I couldn't have put this ""solution"" in front of any of my clients without serious ramifications.

BTW, this is the same tech that Business ByDesign is based on (Netweaver)..Tell me why web based apps are more productive than 'fat client' solutions?

Just logged in for first time....I have shivers...Except for the color and theme stuff, its the same as the SAP B1 partner system...Ugh. One year I spent about 20 hours with the idiots at SAP support trying to get it to save the business plan they force you to (make up) enter in the partner portal. I would fill out all this crap and it would go into the either when I hit save.

I think you answered your own question re: the web based apps. It's all in the designers and developers not the technology.

I'm going ahead and getting myself banned from another Incites by my postings today: http://goo.gl/NnJYS They may come begging back to me however after tons of var's tell them to f' themselves after 'transformational journey' and not attend Incites. Did you all know that Epicor actually uses Sharepoint as the basis for their portal? Works better than any vendors I've used yet. Hell, @PeterWolf couldn't they have built this whole platform on SageCRM? Seems like same basic functionality.

This portal is based on IE6 - all the stuff that M$ did to try to bastardize the web into something proprietary. Even M$ now realizes that was dumb.

Yes they could have. I have quietly been pushing for it behind the scenes. So has Dan Wilzoch. The problem is - like in any organization over two people in size - there are folks on both sides of the matter pushing for one way or another.
