  • 1.  Monthly Subscription Doesn't Renew

    Sage 100 v2019 Advanced -

    When any user logs on to Sage 100 they receive the following message: " Your Sage 100 subscription has expired.  You can continue using the software for 39 days.  Please contact Sage before 9/9/22 to renew your subscription."

    Sage tech support has verified the subscription is valid.   Apparently the message occurs because Sage is having an issue communicating with the license server which is located in the UK.  I believe Sage only pings the UK license server once a month but not sure about this. 

    Sage tech support said they can enter the same unlocking keys and get it to register from a computer outside the end user environment, therefore it is an IT issue and outside their scope for help.  That's wonderful!

    Customer has been using Sage 100 for 20 years, and the subscription is paid promptly.  IT claims nothing has changed.  below are the sites that Sage added to Internet Explorer trusted sites and it didn't make any difference.  Should we be able to ping these?




    Any ideas how to resolve this?

    You may want to ask if the network people have implemented any "geo-ip" filtering.

    We had a client where activation of this function on their firewall caused similar issues.

    IT says  "we aren't doing any hardcore direct blocking on their router at the moment, especially UK.". 

    Does anyone know if Sage has dedicated IP addresses for the licensing server and if so what they are?  I would like to ask IT to take a look and see if these IPs are being blocked by the router / firewall.

    Tagging this because I have a client on 2020.1 who has been having this since they got a new server.  Went through the same things with Sage.  Thought we had it fixed (through nothing I did!) because for 2 months it actually worked - then it went back to having the issue again.

    This is a follow-up to the subscription not renewing.    It magically renewed about a week after it expired.  IT claims they didn't do anything.  Here's the email from IT when I asked what they changed to get the subscription to renew:

    The changes I said I would try on the network which would go out a direct line didn't work and I even had tried to see if the communication was initiated. Odd thing is that the XML file was updated 8/5/22 at 7:26am, the morning you emailed me about this. Once I was done, everything went back to the way we had it before I was onsite and made the changes. The fact that all of a sudden, the communication and registration happened is odd and makes me think of something possibly with Sage's servers. I don't know how the verification happens exactly so I don't know for sure what happened. So I want to see how things pan out for next month's verification that happens around the 26th or 2th to verify communication is still well because as I've said before, nothing was changed on our end and it randomly stopping has me highly skeptical about it being on our end.
