Mod Squad Quick Wins from MOTM

A follow up to everyone who was at the Mod Squad session and watched John Nichols and I duke it out over the date used when doing a GL reversal - If the original posting date is in an open period, the reversal will default to the original date.  If the original posting date is in a closed period, the pop up you normally get about your reversal being created will be enhanced with a message about the period being closed and will tell you it's defaulting to date XX/XX/XX and at that point you can either re-open your period and change the date of the entry, or let it reverse on the non-original date.

    Nice!

BTW, you did an excellent job of sparing with John. Thank you for representing all of us!

I had a blast.  Not sure if John did... but he did send me a cute doggy meme, so I guess I'm forgiven.

The MOD squad mash-up with the WAD squad!  It was the SFA point of the conference.  A SIMPLE request for a SIMPLE fix and he makes a mountain out of it.  A simple "yes this can be done" would have been so much easier.  It is NOT like we were asking for a security permission reconfiguration for the 21st century so ADV/SQL does not need local local admin rights to function..  It takes a village to make Sage better!

    And we have a village!

Mod Squad was one the highest rated sessions of the Conference.  We look forward to expanding it next year.

John admitted he was hung up on posting to a closed period and once he got past that, it just took us 5 minutes to come to an agreement.  I know how it is to get hung up on some idea...
