  • 1.  Misys Software and Sage 300 ?

    Posted 08-15-2024 00:17

Has anyone worked with MIsys manufacturing software?  I'm trying to find out if it is SQL based or proprietary.

For Sage 300, does it have a SQL option?  Is Sage 300 strong in manufacturing?

MISys is MS SQL based, we manage quite a few installations of it if you need more info on that.

Thanks! @George Khairallah.  Is it being used with QuickBooks?

I can check if we have any exceptions, but I believe the majority are with Quickbooks Desktop and some with Quickbooks Online.

@George Khairallah Do you know if MIsys is connected to QB, does it still work as SQL, meaning you can pull tables from SQL?  If yes, is it just the data within Misys or does this allow QB data to be pulled into the SQL tables?

If by "connected" you're referring to an "integration" with QB, then the answer is yes. It does integrate directly to Quickbooks Desktop (all editions) as well as Quickbooks Online. (Different integration mechanisms)

Yes you can definitely pull data directly from SQL via any known method (SSMS, ODBC, etc... )

I'm not entirely clear on your question about pulling QB data into the SQL tables. MISys does allow transfers of GL, PO, Vendor Bills, Inventory Adjustments, WO, Manufacturing Costs, SO, Invoicing, and Customer and Vendor Records as part of the integration. So, as a result, you technically have some data that exists in Quickbooks and also exists in the MISys DB.

If you are looking to get data from Quickbooks independently from MISys though, you can also use QODBC to connect directly to the Quickbooks company file and pull whatever data you need that way.
