  • 1.  Miscellaneous Items on BOMs

    Hi! I have a client panicking because they can't put Miscellaneous Items on BOMs. Is there any extended solution or updated module that might allow this? With all the changes to existing modules and options of new updated modules I have snarled myself into a little circle with no answers. Thank you!

    Can you confirm that /M is a misc Item and not a misc Charge in your data? In my 2019 /M is a charge, and charges are allowed but not items :(

    Right... charge vs misc item.  Option is greyed out for enabling in BM.

    Set up a client two weeks ago with v2019 PU 2 BOM.  I was having a conniption as well because of this limitation.  But it turns out that if you set up a charge code, the BOM WILL allow you to treat it as an item charge.  My charge code was labor at $75.  In BOM production entry, I was able to enter 25 hours, just as I would if it was an item code. Bizarre.

    I did see that it was accepting quantity on the BOM and it's good to hear that it allows it in production entry as well. I'm holding out hope that the client won't mind that they can't enter a quantity in SO or PO for the item or else I'm going to have to go the UDF route and I can't find a way that would be elegant in that process. Fingers crossed they don't need qty in the other modules!

    Agreed - thanks for the voting link. I have clicked it repeatedly just in case that counts more. The client has agreed to set up the Misc items as Inventory items in their own product line which we will filter out for counting and valuation. Thank you for your help!
