I had a very good discussion with Mike on Monday. My goal was to explore whether there is anything we could offer that might be a draw to consultants like him and Kerry who concentrate on Acumatica. Note that he still has half of his business dealing with Sage legacy customers.
His main attraction to 90 Minds was our business development elements, not so much the technical support. Surprised? I was. His firm is small: just him and Kerry. He embraced the FOTF and all related sorts of education.
He feels that we no longer have as active a stream in non-Sage 100-related information. (I sort of agree.) Some of this feeling is surely that of him consuming all the early-adopter bits, and the remaining threads are sort of rehashing. He thinks the non-tech elements are even more relevant to his Acumatica experience because he is now interacting with firm-wide management rather than the accounting-centric people of his Sage 100 customers.
This difference in experience between current Sage 100 customers and Acumatica (and probably Intacct) is absolutely no surprise to me.
He is a sample size of one. Still, this feedback confirms my sense of need. We must continue and improve our Sage 100 tech assets for our members, But we must offer tech-related business development opportunities to grow.
