  • 1.  Migration to new domain - v4.5 Advanced

    We have a client on version 4.5 Advanced who is migrating to a new domain.  The server name and UNC path will not change.  Can you think of any gotchas to look out for when they make the switch?

    Check the user that Sage service(s) are running under - if it is a domain user that will need to be redone.

    What Phil said. User names for services don't have to be entered as domain\username they can instead be entered in the email format of username@ followed by DNS domain name. This would apply not just to Sage service but other ones you are likely to find a domain name instead of LocalSystem account, like SQL Server and SQL Agent services. IOW ask client's IT to glance thru all the services and adjust as needed.

    Emails using old domain name could also possibly be seen in Company Maint / Email tab and Paperless / Form Maintenance.
