Migration from 4.3 to 4.5. Client had about 10 warehouses that were inactive and had been deleted (somehow) but there were inventory transactions in the item history file. When the information migrated, we started getting errors in inventory inquiry that the warehouse master master was missing. Short term solution was to add the warehouse code back to the master record. Now 10 inactive warehouses appear in inquiry. How have others handled this situation? Purge the transactions by date. Doesn't seem to be a purge by warehouse nor a merge. Can one dump into Excel, purge/merge the old records, then import into a clean history table?

How long have the warehouses been inactive? Could you purge transaction detail through the latest date in these warehouses, then delete the warehouses? (I'd copy the data to a backup company for history purposes if necessary.)

Not sure. Transaction history has 563K records which is a bit over the limit for Excel 2003. Oh how I long for real improvements to IM. Purge/merge transactions by warehouse, inactive warehouse codes, yada, yada, yada.....

So can't you preview the detail transaction report for each of those warehouses separately to see what the latest date is?

That would work.

Had to do this once. I think we followed the Sage KB and some of it was DFDM to zero our warehouse quantities in one or two files.

Been dealing with this issue as well - i need to do the same thing as I've had to add about 25-30 warehouse codes that they don't use anymore (most are 2 characters and I've had to add through DFDM). I wish the inventory utilities would check for this issue.

You might check 401146. It discusses procedures to get the warehouse and cost tier files cleaned out.
