  • 1.  Migrating Sage Intelligence reports from Advanced to Premium

    Posted 12-29-2020 16:22

We are converting a customer from Sage 2018 Advanced to Sage 2020 Premium. They use Sage Intelligence heavily and have a bunch of reports. We tried doing the export/import for two different sets of financial reports and it bombed out about ¾ of the way through. I wanted to know if anyone had experience taking Sage Intelligence reports from Advanced to Premium and if so, do they know a good way to get all of these reports out or do we need to plan to re-write them.

    Hi Rhonda

For an Advanced to Premium I generally copy a new Designer Template to the custom folder in Report Manager, then open the Excel Template from Advanced and use the Save Excel Template to then Save the Excel Template to the New Designer Template.  Might not be the best process but it works with a Premium.

Hi Rhonda- The only way that I have found that will work properly especially with multiple Tree formatting or multiple database consolidations, is to create a blank template in the Premium Report Manager, and copy the sheets from the old into the new. Its easiest if you just use the design function in the old to bring up the old template, instead of running it. I did try saving the entire old workbook template over the new Premium template, but it still errored. That might have been because the report in whole was pulling more than financial data for the designer. For non financial reports I found that you have need to recreate the container, the report layout, run the report then you can replace the sheets within the new template with the formatted worksheets from the old, sometimes replacing references of graphs and pivot tables to the new template if required.
