Microsoft/Nokia's last major effort to make a smartphone dent looks interesting. They can't make the same mistake as palm and leave it on just one carrier for too long though. T his has to roll to all the big boys. http://www.techrepublic.com/blog/hiner/nokia-lumia-900-a-review-for-business-professionals/10441?tag=nl.e101

If they were smart, they'd make a play for Blackberry, and offer all current blackberry users some kind of heavy subsidy, say $50 or $100 making a Win phone 7.5 a free upgrade and then make sure they have BB messaging software well integrated into winmo 7

They really need to do what they previously were unable to do -- and that's to offer a cheap texting/data package that undercuts the other devices. Microsoft tried to do this with their failed Kin phones which were widely believed to be aimed at the cheaper market and supposedly carry a lower monthly data plan. The carriers aren't going to play along with this so poor Microsoft is left having to probably give these away. If they start out a $99 with contract I bet they're $200 rebate within 6 months. The initial reviews were pretty meh.

It's weird but I almost feel sorry for MIcrosoft. They have so missed this market it isn't funny and its what flipped the size relationship between Microsoft and Apple in the exact opposite direction
