Microsoft is so screwed. I'm in a business meeting with about 40 people ... as I look around the room and I see that the majority of people (business people here) are using iPads or Macs. I only count 7 people with Windows notebooks. This is only anecdotal but it's just amazing. Three years ago, very few people could have imagined this.

What is the context of the meeting? Is this an end user company? What does the company do?

Interesting. The ipads I can understand. I tried really hard for 6 months to convert to Mac and found, I spent most of my day in Parrallels running microsoft applications under windows. Outside of a prettier computer, I can't find a reason why a Mac is better than a PC laptop...

@PeterWolf Seems you should hang with a more hip crowd..... you know... the Win 8 savants.

Peter'd still be using a Win Mobile phone if Wayne hadn't donated an Android phone to him.

BYOD is definitely a MS threat. iPads with their long battery life are ideal for meeting notes.

You do need a keyboard case or bluetooth keyboard. Its just too slow typing on the screen

Yes. I haven't had a problem with that. Dealing with only 1 app at a time is annoying. But for meeting notes, web browsing, reading documents and web demos (of CRM) it's worked quite well for me.
