As Microsoft continues to align business priorities, product development, and investments in the cloud, we are announcing the lifecycle plan for Dynamics GP, including that updates and support (except for security updates) will end in 2029. This decision reflects our commitment to investing in modern, cloud-based solutions that drive future growth and innovation. The important dates to share with Dynamics GP customers are as follows:
• September 2029: End of product enhancements, regulatory (tax) updates, and product support
• April 2031: End of security updates
Microsoft had already announced the end of perpetual and subscription licenses. I guess it was only time until they announced an effective end of life for Microsoft GP ( Great Plains ).
Reportedly there are somewhere in the area of 18,000 licensed users of Micrsoft GP with likely some additional number who are running an older perpetual license without paying any maintenance.
