Microsoft Edge WebView2 on Server 2016 with v2021

    Here's a goody!
Test Upgrade to v2021 Advanced.  Installed client on Citrix Server using Server 2016 Standard.
I noticed when I installed the client that a prerequisite installed called Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime.  Didn't think anything of it.
When testing Sage, The WebContent Window keeps Loading and Loading.
When I open a task (GL Account Maintenance), the blue circle spins and spins even though the window has loaded and is working if I want to go to Transactions/History, etc.  (see attached pix).
Working with IT, he clicked on the Web Content tab and selected to 'open with internet explorer' and our problems went away.
Googled Edge for Server 2016 and it appears it's not available - but Sage has adopted it as the embedded browser(?)
Trying to uninstall the WebView2 Runtime and it's not going well.  Appears to be hung.  Can't reboot as users are on it.
There wasn't a default browser selected and so IT did select one before doing this uninstall, not sure if that would have take care of the problem.
Anybody encountered this and know how to resolve it?
Will setting the default browser take care of the issue of the spinning blue circle?
    Thanks

Hello Nancy, ran into this on a recent v2021 upgrade within Citrix environment as well.  Please see attached registry entries used to get past it.

    Thanks,

Thank you so much!  I gave the doc to IT and he'll create those entries and reboot tonight.

Not sure if this is an exact match to the post, but thought I would try.

Client's WS locks up (Sage 100 not responding) after launching Sage.

Client running v2022 ADV PU1 on an HP workstation WIN 10 release 21H1 locks up when launching Sage client.  Drilling into the task manager, there are numerous instances of Microsoft Edge Webview2 running.  On my WS WIN 10, it is release 21H2 and no Msft Edg WebView2 appear after launching Sage.  We upgraded another client workstation from 21H1 to 21H2 and the Webview2 disappeared.

I am wondering if others have experienced the issue.  We are upgrading to 21H2 on problem PC this PM.  Hope this resolves the issue.

I hate that new feature but have found that what the user will have to do because there is no way to automate the change.  Have them, from the desktop, click on View then select "Use Internet Explorer Mode".   That should take some pressure off the servers and all stations.  Users can fix thier stations but you will need to update the server in case no one else has access.  ;)

@Carmen Cruz - Issue seems to be limited to one workstation.

Spawn tasks from the server (setting) different for the user?

Have they tried putting this user on a new workstation?  If they don't have another station how about a windows profile but vanilla not with all this users crap on it initially that it currently has.  They are running something that is sucking up all the power of that station and locking it down.  It is definitely more than Sage doing this.   You could try process monitor as well

We upgraded the OS to version 21H2.  We'll see if that resolves the issue tomorrow.

Client reported NO "not responding" issues today.  I would recommend the WIN 10 OS version to 21H2 to see if other issues are resolved.
