My context on this. YMMV:
1. Needs to work with all popular WMS - in my world that's generally ScanForce
2. Shipping is a bottleneck - if it goes down I get a call immediately from the owner because their work (shipping sold product) begins grinding to a halt
3. IF SF looks at it and deems the shipping solution the issue - and I can't get it fixed then I'm potentially gone as the reseller/consultant - maybe not immediately but the click begins to tick...
I acknowledge the expense and pain of the incumbent shipping solution. And my direct conversation with owners is "do you want to save $10-20k annually but risk being down for a day/week/month"? I know some sites have a much larger $$ amount that they could be saving so this conversation about changing is much easier.
I recognize that StarShip Cloud took some sites down for that period (and during that time I was actively telling clients to hold on migrations). Some owners don't care and are willing to go with a less used solution and in those cases I have counseled them and I'm all in on the new solution that THEY selected.
I'm already being cut out on margin on many purchases so making money on the sale isn't in my thought process. It's all about providing the pros and cons and letting the client decide.
TLDR:
My message to a client in this situation is - would you want to bet the $10k to $20k in annual savings ( insert your own number) on a less trusted solution. If it takes your warehouse down for a day/week/month would the cost savings be worth it? If yes, let go! The key for me is have the client make that decision - documented via email - and only after they listen to my boring cautionary discussion.

We actually do have a Sage 100 client on MAXShipper. Been using it 6 months, no issues, and very happy. And they switched from StarShip (actually found MAXShipper on their own and we were not involved with the implementation/migration). All reports were that the changeover was very smooth.
I'm just hoping to get additional feedback before we start to push another solution.
Also, while Ron C built the Sage 100 integration, MAXShipper integrates with a bunch of other ERP systems - Sage 300, Dynamics BC, SAP.

@Michele Herzog - I believe so but feel free to reach out to Clayton Nelson, clayton.nelson@ratelinx.com
We visited with MAXShipper yesterday. It's a smaller outfit and Ron Chompf (ACS MultiBin / PM2000) built the Sage 100 integration. Price point is generally much lower than Starship or RateLinx, but seems like a solid solution. Support is typically via text. They said they don't get a lot of support cases coming in but that would be my biggest area of concern for a larger company - the size and responsiveness of the support team.
Attached is a sample price sheet. MAXShipper is interested in getting involved with 90 Minds, so hopefully more info to come.
We have a call with Ship Station later today (Bob Richter of DSD/In-Synch).

Do you know if RateLinx handles bulk shipments, full truck loads and integrates with 3rd party brokers?

We have one customer finishing their implementation of RateLinx. I first heard of it from that customer. I have spoken with RateLinx at length, and I have been impressed with what they offer and their flexibility to deliver. They originally started with larger, enterprise- level companies and have now started marketing to our types of customers.

If I ran a company and could save $580K in labor annually, I wouldn't mind paying a bit more for the solution.
Perhaps the Education committee could line up a demonstration for the group. @Anne Sawyer??

This is great info @Eric Anderson please keep the feedback coming and we will track it for the Content Library. I remember back when Sage didn't renew V-Technologies and tried to get everyone over to SmartLinc. I think pricing difference of SmartLinc was so hight that most people just stayed as-is.
Another really important issue for my clients would be to what degree any shipping solution integrates/is compatible with their WMS - either ScanForce or Endpoint.
Please keep us posted

Quick update - had a great call with RateLinx. They are the real deal but will not be less expensive than Starship, probably slightly more expensive in most cases. Our team was impressed. If you have larger clients that need faster performance and more functionality, it might be a good fit. They also shared a case study with us, a raving fan that moved over from the other TMS we are so familiar with (see attached file).
Have additional calls next week with:
ShipStation (I believe the integration is maintained by Bob R from ROI/DSD)
and
MAXShipper (Ron Chompf is involved with this one). We do have one client using MAXShipper and they love it. Another one saw a demo recently and is looking to switch. MAXShipper is priced based on # of packages per day and starts as low as $800 per year, going up to $10K per year. Additional fees for additional carriers.
More to come next week.

Thanks Wayne, I had a similar discussion with RateLinx at the conference. We have a call with them tomorrow so I can update this post with what we learn.

I talked to the person from RateLinx in the hall on the way to the main conference area. I don't recall them saying they had many Sage 100 users integrating to their product.

Pioneers sometimes see arrows coming their way. I don't recall, did RateLinx offer a MOTM26 special? I think it is important to support vendors who come to the show.
