  • 1.  MASCRW converts to wrong version?

    Posted 11-20-2024 12:35

Working on an upgrade for a client and Sage 100 complains that the crystal reports needs to be upgraded.  Upgrading to 2024.1.

Have run the MASCRW utility and the file date/time stamp changes suggesting that they have converted but Sage 100 still complains that they need to be converted.

I looked at the forms in the summary info in crystal and it indicates version 7.20  (2023).  I manually changed  it to 7.30 for three different forms and it works just fine.   However it appears that virtually every form is showing 7.20?   Tried running MASCRW utility again and the only thing it pulled up was the three forms that I had hand corrected, so basically it is trying to take it back to 7.20.

Anyone have a clue as to where MASCRW is taking it cue for the updated version number?

There is a file called mascrcw.ini in the MAS90\Home directory on the server that is uses to do the conversion.  It sounds like it may have gotten overwritten somehow. I would try to get a copy of the ini file from a 2024.1 system, you can make a backup of the existing one then overwrite it with the one from a 2024.1 system.

Also make sure you are pointing the utility to the correct path, where you enter credentials:

    You nailed it David!

The INI file says version 7.20 in it.   How it got there I haven't a clue.

    Thank you.

If that is the case, I DO NOT recommend modifying the ini file to force it to 7.3 because there could be important conversion info missing from the file.  Best best is to get a known good copy from a a clean 2024.1 system.  I do not have one handy to upload at the moment.

    David,

I copied the file from my own system and everything appears to be good.  Thank you again.

I've been under the impression that it looks at the summary section of the crystal form

Jeff, that is what the report programs looks at to determine if a report is at the right level when you run a report.  It gets updated when you convert a report at runtime or by using the mascrcw utility.
