MAS90 v4.4 PU 5 - was loading a newly purchase VI module. Did the ""add"" module. Re-entered the keys. I'm not stuck at NO VALID ACTIVATION Normal suspects checked: - User rights - Re-run $ACTPVX.BAT No go Continue to get the NO VALID ACTIVATION Of course I have 20 users who I told needed to exit MAS for 15 minutes during lunch and now this has brought their entire system down... Thoughts?

Sounds like Sage sent you bad keys. Did you backup the activate.pvx before installing?

Sage sent me a shipping PDF that does not match to what is online. I assume that is because the info has not yet been entered. I'm sure we have an Activate.PVX from last night.

I think if you restore the keys from last night it should let you in MAS just not VI. Then you can reregister the keys with the corrected keys.

If the on line profile indicates VI I would use the on line numbers.

No the online doesn't show VI -- so I assumed they just hadn't entered the order online. I restored and Activate.PVX and that lets me back in. Now I'll see if re-entering the keys works. I had tried copying the keys from online and activating before realizing Sage had not yet put the updated keys in there. That may have been the core cause of this issue. I restored the Activate.PVX and when I login using the old Activate.pvx I now see my new keys. Maybe somehow the activate.pvx was hosed and upon first startup it writes the keys to the system config by running that bat file??? Odd

If server access works, and any workstation access doesn't work, copy the server home/lib/keys/activate.pvx file to the same folder on the workstation.

Looks as if something was hosed with the Activate.PVX? I renamed it to *.old and reran the activation batch file. That didn't work. When I restored activate.pvx from a backup (before I loaded the new module) --- the system started up and the activation keys matched Sage.

This was my problem yesterday. The online keys were invalid. I spoke with Steffen Urban from Sage yesterday and he said they have been having problems with keys lately - nice to know. I will now ALWAYS backup the activate.pvx file. Fortunately for me, I was able to use the activate.pvx from their terminal server which let me back in and as Wayne experienced, it showed the additional users. I asked if there is a way for us to test new keys and Steffen said he has a test install that he tries them on but that seems unrealistic - if you already have VI registered and enter a new key that includes it, how do you know it was the new key or not?

I was emailed PDF keys -- the online system had definitely not updated yet. I usually copy/paste the keys since they have to be entered exactly. I tried to do that the first time before realizing Sage had not updated online yet. I haven't encountered that yet but will be backing up activate.pvx more frequently.

I usually enter the new keys before attempting the install. If they don't work at the point, then I don't have to do much damage control.

I received keys last week for an upgrade and they were invalid. Sage ended up having to regenerate new keys.

    Wow, so it's an epidemic?

One thing I would do is verify that the new key is valid.Sent from my Windows Phone

I think you will need to restore the MAS90/HOME directory. We have had this issue lately also.

Restoring activate.pvx to the \home\lib\keys fixed the issue
