  • 1.  MAS90 mode on v4.4 Advanced (folder copy): error

    Posted 04-15-2026 09:35

I am working on an upgrade for a v4.4 Advanced source system.  (That weird Enterprise Edition...).

The initial steps involve leaving the Live system untouched, taking a copy, uninstalling a couple modules (which are not on the new license) then doing a test migration... but I cannot get into the copy (run "startup.m4p).  File 'CU_Options' not found.

CRM is one of the modules I'll be removing... so there is nothing I need to preserve related to CRM... but I can't get into the system to do anything.

The programs are there... but I am not sure if this is what is being referenced in the error.

The source MAS_System folder doesn't include anything related to CU... (like are in a modern Sage install).

Any ideas on what I can do to bypass this error 12?

Update: Process Monitor is pointing me to where the launcher is looking for the missing files.

I only copied the Live company codes, and for some reason the startup programming is looking for specific files in the company data.  Copying MAS_ABC helped get further, leading to a similar error for one of the test companies.  Copying that folder gives me another error in a different test company...

I'll report back with the final result, but I am hopeful that I'm on the right track now.

Success!  Copying in the company data (AR### and CU### folders for the test / demo companies that had the CU## folder) were enough to get in and do what I needed.
