MAS200 in the clouds? Just received an email from a client asking about about putting a MAS200 server in the cloud. EMAIL.... We are thinking of transferring our server to the ""Cloud"". I am concerned with processing speed. Do you have any MAS clients that have made this transition and do you know what internet speed they require to perform transactions.? I will says that we have a client that is using a hosted system and they are pretty happy with it. The specifics on this client is that they have an accounting /manufacturing office on the East coast with a sales office on the west coast so they are a good candidate. Has anyone else had success with it?

We have a few customers that operate their server out of a main location and all other locations use terminal server. We do host the MAS server for one of our customers and another where it's hosted elsewhere but we do the maintenance on it.

With Terminal Server I've not seen where realistic speeds have been a problem. I have a few clients that even run MAS on a TS connection within the same office just because it's easier for them to maintain the setups.

We used to do that at my old firm with Accpac. TS internally was faster to deploy and allowed managers to access from the road when they needed to.

To be technical, this isn't the 'cloud.' This is 'hosted.'

True - but what are the options for MAS in the cloud?

Take a laptop with MAS 90 on it while you skydive? MAS 90 will be in the clouds for a little while, right?

Isn't the ""cloud"" just another word for hosted? What is the real difference? A browser interface?

We have a few customers running MAS in hosted environments. I think that overall the performance in a hosted environment is better than in an on-site environment.
