MAS 90 Payroll version 4.50 PU3. This may sound weird but can anyone think of a way to trigger the Auto Deduction in Payroll Data Entry for ALL employees at once. I believe that if you hand enter each employee the system prompts for Auto Deductions after each employee is entered. And if you import earning entries via Visual Integrator the VI job prompts to calculate Auto Deductions as part of the perform logic in VI. What I need is to say NO to the VI prompt, import my earning entries, then open the Payroll Data Entry and somehow trigger the Auto Deductions routine for ALL employees imported into Payroll Data Entry. I would then finish with Tax Calculation and process payroll as normal. Any ideas?

Why do you want to say no to the auto deduction calc in VI?

I have a modification to the Auto Deduction program that will not launch from a VI import.

Who did the mod for you? They should be able to fix it so the function runs in VI!

They can fix it - but the fix will cost more than the original modification. I'm trying to make sure I have not overlooked a more cost effective option, before I deliver the ""we need to spend more money"" news to the client.

Why spend money on an MD flaw? Are they claiming a WAD on this also? Do the MD's follow Sage's lead on this stuff also?

It sure sounds like the MD does not view Visual Integrator as a ""normal"" way to enter time into Payroll Data Entry. I bet if Sage would have rolled Extended Solution PR-1031 Payroll Data Entry Import Utility into Payroll versions greater than 4.20 this MD modification would have been compatible. I miss The McCabe Associates days.

I still think you need to push back on this one. VI is a very normal way of processing payroll. Anyone with a time clock system will be doing. I have shown all of my clients with VI and PR how to use the two in tandem. Doing data entry into an Excel worksheet is so much easier.....
