MAS 90, 4.30.0.13 PO5 file periodically disappearing 4 times within the past 3 months, client's PO5 file disappears after successfully posting the PO ROG (with invoice #'s); they don't specifically use PO ROI. ROG is performed about 2-3 times per week. If try to get into PO ROG: PO5 not found - err 12, powdba, 0415, po5 If try to get into PO ROI: PO5 not found - err 12, powdca, 0415, po5 We have to manually reinit PO5 to resolve. Trying to figure out what might be causing this. PO Batch Entry is disabled. This issue only happens on a single computer, which is where 99% of the ROG's are performed. That computer is also used to perform postings in A/R, A/P and S/O but not experiencing any issues with these updates. Maybe only PO is having an issue because it's still legacy on their version?? At this point I'm thinking there's just some infrastructure issue going on (e.g., network/connection failure - in that it's very possible that workstation is losing its connection to the network and therefore doesn't properly finish the update process). Looking for any other thoughts or feedback, but I suggested they perform the PO ROG updates from a different computer for the next several weeks to see if this issue still occurs (employee going on vaca tomorrow for couple weeks so that helps). If issue doesn't happen during this timeframe, it would seem to be a workstation-specific issue. Does my logic seem logical thus far?

Sage suggests anti-virus where the AV doesn't let the system create a new file. That HAS been my issue with an AP file that used to do that, but seems like I've had another file keep disappearing and AV wasn't the issue. Or we couldn't prove it was.

We haven't experienced this issue specifically on MAS at any clients. However, we had something similar happen on a particular workstation with Platinum for Windows a few months ago. In their case, Norton Anti-virus was configured to scan network drives on the local workstation. Every time they ran a particular process in PFW, a critical file on the server was quartentined on the local workstation. The issue may be something completely different but I always check Anti-virus settings when select files start to mysteriously disappear. Good luck.

I had an issue similar a while back and the culprit was opportunistic locking on the server if I recall correctly.

Does this happen with other postings? Is the workstation strictly for the purchasing area use? Does any post payables, receivables?

I know we've discussed Antivirus settings with the client previously, but sounds like it's worth another mention. And probably couldn't hurt to check on Opportunistic Locking. Thanks, all. @WayneSchulz, no issues experienced from this workstation during A/R, A/P or S/O postings. Only P/O.

We've had this issue where the BMAxxx.soa file disappears and we believe it might be related to the customer's use of anti-virus.

What version, @DawnAnastasi? Was it lower than 4.40?

Yes because BOM went to the framework in 4.40. If you can set the system to ignore files with extensions of SOA and M4T that would be ideal.
