MAS 200, version 4.50.4.0 Workstation - Windows 7 Server 2008, SP2 A client tried to install the MAS 200 workstation client on a new PC themselves without IT help. They did not have admin rights on the workstation and UAC was active. The install bombed part way through the process. The MAS 200 client does NOT show up under add/remove programs in control panel. When we try to re-run the install after disabling UAC and with full admin rights, we get the following error message: ""An error (-5005 : 0x80070002) has occurred while running the setup. Please make sure you have finished any previous setup and closed other applications. If the error still occurs, please contact your vendor: Sage."" We first rebooted the workstation to ensure no install processes were running. We deleted the Sage directory on the workstation. We also looked in the registry under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> Software and deleted the registry entry for Sage. Still getting the error. Has anybody run into this or something similar? What am I missing? Thanks in advance.

Possibly a registry entry under the installer program (InstallScript)?

I know the server side puts a text file instlck.txt (or something like that) to prevent another install from starting. Maybe something like that is on the WS

First of all, thank you very much Beth! We ran this and found some other items to clean up on the workstation. However, it did not resolve the original issue. The client has been out of office, so today when I heard back from her, she reported the same error has occurred on another machine. At this point I am most definitely looking at a file/lock on the server side, but I just do not know where that would be or what exactly is it named. Any ideas?

I have seen similar things with Win workstations... I have had success in disabling the windows installer service, rebooting and setting the installer service back to manual ... then I can successfully install stuff...
