MAS 200 4.4.9 - one workstation out of 15 has recurring issue where every couple of hours launching MAS tasks slows dramatically and the only print choice is deferred. Other apps can print fine and ping tests show rapid network response. Rebooting the machine cures it for a little while, and then it repeats. Workstation setup has already been uninstalled/reinstalled. no change. Also renamed the workstation in case it was corrupt control files records by workstation name. Any other ideas?

Do they perhaps have something like an anti-virus scan or a backup running on their machine?

tried turning off the AV, same behavior

Something else going on with the Windoze on their workstation?

Even while waiting for MAS to load a screen other apps open normally and can print.

I've seen the Deferred behavior on a customer where that particular workstation did not have the printer that others were using to print a form. It defaulted to a Deferred. Workaround: Create a specially named form JUST for that person and see fi the issue recurs. May not apply but FWIW

I've had this happen to me personally where for some unknown reason, I lose connection to the server where my default printer is installed. That's why rebooting the workstation resets the connection - at least termporarily. I just do Run and enter the UNC path to the server and that resolves it. I haven't determined why I'm losing the connection however.

Check and see if all of the printers on the workstation are valid.

Yes - a lot of options open a default-printer when selected. Any printer changes?

All printers are valid and working (at least from other apps), and the default printer is local.
