  • 1.  MAS 200 4.4.10 to 2020.0 Standard using 4.58 Standard as an intermediate stop

    Posted 12-03-2020 20:06
Planning for a 4.4 to 2020 upgrade and have a copy of 4.5.8 Standard that I plan to use as an intermediate stop. I zipped up a working 4.5.8 on an old computer, copied it to my current computer and unzipped it. When I try to launch it, in MAS90 mode, I get this message:
MAS 200 for SQL Server Error screenshot
I compared the keys to the 4.5.8 on my current computer - they are the same. I copied the SY_Activation and Activate.pvx from the current 4.5.8 to the copied version, but I get the same message.  Interestingly, I remoted to another client, where last year I upgraded them from 4.40.10 to 4.58 to 2019.  I tried to launch the 4.58 on their server and got the same message.
    Any thoughts on what's happening?

No, I didn't on the client I upgraded last year - didn't need to.  In the current situation, my purpose is to launch it on my local before I upload it to their server to avoid running into this issue.

Did you make sure you have full control over the copied MAS90 folder and nothing is tagged as Read Only?

Did you check the Supported Platform Matrix?  You might have better luck using 2017 as an intermediate step.
