MAS 200 4.4.08 - customer has one serialized item

  • 1.  MAS 200 4.4.08 - customer has one serialized item

    Posted 08-21-2017 12:30
MAS 200 4.4.08 - customer has one serialized item that has not had any stock for about 3 years, but every time they do a physical count it makes an entry for -3, which now has it at a count of -96 by item transaction history, itemlottransactionhistory and itemwarehousehistorybyperiod, and the valuation by period report. It shows 0 qty and $0 value in itemcost and itemwarehouse, and the regular inventory valuation report, but the GL account matches the value in the by period version. Anyone have any better ideas for fixing than much DFDM and journal entries?

And the lot serial file records have no serial number in them...

I'd look at the *utl utility to balance quantity and cost to see if that shows any results.

Is it the same serial numbers every time? Purge the serial numbers?

Was there anything accidentally posted to a future date for that item?

No future dates, and no serial numbers on any of the entries - all are code IP for a qty of -3

I've seen some weird things with a tier posting table, but my memory is failing on its name. IIRC it holds the tier data while the register is printed, and should be cleared with the update Yes / No question but sometimes that doesn't happen (and when I've dealt with it I've been working with KB articles to reinit the proper table).

Time to suggest the infamous upgrade...

I was having a weird problem with a serial number and found a record in the Item Cost file that had a missing Tier Type. It put the record first in the list of all serial numbers and so I kept missing it because I was looking for the serial number in alphanumeric order. You may want to check there to see if you have an odd record for that item. Maybe if you find one and add the tier type, you'll be able to adjust it off normally.

Hmm...there is one entry as FIFO that is an overdistribution

infamous upgrade was discussed ad nauseum and the final answer was them going off of maintenance...

A tier with the wrong type in the costing file could certainly wreak havoc.

I understand. I have a client coming up for BC renewal. Sage wants 12.5K for renewal. They are running v4.3 on a 2003 SBS. For some reason they keep renewing. Will 2017 be the year they stop renewing or replace their server? When I have discussed in the past, they said don't worry - They back up every night..... Yikes.
