MAS 200 4.40 PU5. S/O Entry line item Extended Description changes are not saving properly depending on the location of the Description field in the primary grid: With the Description field moved to the S/O Entry primary grid, call up an existing S/O, click on the Description field data of a line item with an Extended Description to bring up the Item Text Maint window, make a change to the desc, click OK, click again on that Desc field data to bring up the Item Text Maint window, and notice the change is gone. It seems like the only time this doesn't happen when the Description field is in the primary grid is if that field is in the last position (farthest to the right) or if the field is left in the secondary grid. Have others seen this? Any other workaround besides putting it in the last position on the right, or leaving it in the secondary grid?

I saw this on a JOB-OPS PU4 installation, however I discounted it as a JOB-OPS issue. In my case, I was having scripting change the field, and when I clicked on the field it reverted back. Have you reported it to Sage?

If anyone has a chance, can you try to re-create this issue with the following steps. This is 4.40.0.5. 1.Go into S/O Entry and move the Item Desc field into position 2 in the top Primary Grid (to the right of Item Code). 2.Create or call up an existing SO with a line item that has an Extended Desc on that SO. (Be sure the Order is first saved before doing the next step.) 3.Click the Desc field for that line to bring up the Item Text Maint (ITM) window. 4.Make a change to the text, click OK, click again on that Desc field to bring up the ITM window, and notice the change is gone - EVEN THOUGH IT DISPLAYS IN THE DESC FIELD ON THE GRID. As far as I can tell: this only happens on existing orders/lines it happens with standard MAS 90/200 4.40.5 (i.e., my local system)? And at this point, to prevent this issue from occurring, these are the workarounds as I see it: 1.Leave the Item Desc field in the bottom Secondary Grid on the S/O Entry Lines screen - in the top position for quick access. 2.Move the Item Desc field into position 2 in the top Primary Grid (to the right of Item Code), and when the Item Text Maint (ITM) box appears, his the ESC key or click Cancel, click the Desc field again to bring up ITM, and make the necessary changes. Apparently the 2nd time into that ITM screen doesn't create this issue. 3.Move the Item Desc field to the farthest right position in the top Primary Grid on the S/O Entry Lines screen.

Well I just did some testing with PU6 installed, and it appears this issue no longer occurs.
