Mark Kotyla's request on this thread could be a slippery slope: https://90minds-com.socialcast.com/messages/18788160?ref=stream depending on who wrote the custom perform.

You concerned about licensing issues/taking the programming without paying the source? I'm not sure one way or the other - however isn't one of the problems with scripting/PL that it's all clear text ?

Probably could use some direction for the group. I agree with @WayneSchulz that it's simply text but isn't all scripting? I'm thinking about custom Crystal reports (simply because I don't write scripts). If I sell one to a customer, are they forbidden from providing it to another end user/partner? I'd probably be pissed if they did but I don't have them sign anything saying it is only for their use. Hmmm, maybe I should...

The code that has been posted seems like it's mostly a ""how to"" and in itself doesn't do an awful lot. I still don't know whether I'm on the it's ok or should be forbidden (done in private). It's difficult because we do share a lot of ""how to"" type things. I'd say that if the code or report is standalone and can be used straight away that it probably shouldn't be shared unless you are the creator. If it's snippets then what would our reaction be if it's copy/pasted into the group? I think in the past we've had RPT files shared though I can't remember if they were always from the creator.

I think the RPT files I've seen have been from the creator - or the one looking for help on it.

Personally I'd err on the side of sharing. There is no real commercial opportunity for the source on some little niche thing like this and it can help others.
