March 2019 is the last scheduled date for product updates for Sage 100 v2018. Fixes may be available after that date up until the 6/30/2020 hotfix deadline, however, *** Sage reserves the right to determine if and when Hot Fixes will be issued. So, depending on how you define support, a user on 2018 either has: N-0 ( product updates for 2018 stop with the anticipated 3/2019 release of 2019) <== This is my view of when true support ceases N-1.25 (when hotfixes are no longer an option) N-2.5 (when phone support is no longer available) Sage has already [exercised their right not to issue hotfixes for older payroll](https://support.na.sage.com/selfservice/viewdocument.do?noCount=true&externalId=91050&sliceId=1&isLoadPublishedVer=&docType=kc&docTypeID=DT_Article&stateId=8138&cmd=displayKC&dialogID=368818&ViewedDocsListHelper=com.kanisa.apps.common.BaseViewedDocsListHelperImpl&openedFromSearchResults=true) when they said either formally or informally that all program fixes will need to be at Payroll 2.x level.

Apparently Sage wants us to really believe Sage 100cloud is a cloud product where upgrades are practically immediate in multi-tenant environments. Of course, it's not a cloud product, so the channel has to deal with the consequences of this schedule. The generally accepted standard for most resellers is to wait 6 months before upgrading most customers. Many of the largest resellers may actually state that on their websites. So that would mean the bulk of upgrades would start in September 2019, since Sage decided to wait for the new (""not your father's"") Work Order to be completed. That will be 6 months of customer inquiries about why they haven't been upgraded, and then those upgrades have to be scheduled. And September+ is an ideal time when resellers have nothing to do, except start on (or be in the middle of) implementations for new sales. It's not like we have rooms of people waiting to start doing upgrades. The biggest issue in the channel currently is insufficient resources, and almost all partners are chasing after the same scarce resources. Most customers will be lucky to be using version 2019 live by March 2020. Meanwhile version 2018 has become stagnant due to no more product updates. Something is very wrong with this picture.

I like Napoleon's take on it as well.
