Sage News and Discussion

Marc Scheipe will be leaving Sage to pursue other opportunities. We are grateful to Marc for his time leading the business - as President of North America, and also in his previous role as CFO, and wish him all the best for the future. Effective immediately, Nancy Harris will step up in the interim to lead the region, reporting directly to me. As you know, Nancy is a trusted leader who did a fantastic job leading our Canada business until July 2016, when she transitioned to the US to lead and rebuild our Partners & Alliances channels in North America.

Another one bits the dust.

He was at Sage since March 2013. I think that may be a new record of up the ladder and out the door.

So even his background as a Navy pilot landing fighter jets on carriers in the middle the night could keep him on this ship!!! Wow, what is this Sage world turning into??

Marc was a pleasant person, but his role was primarily a facilitator and to report to Kelly. He was not leading anything and did not make any major decisions. Personally, I disagree with the Sage structure where Kelly is the global CEO (king) at the expense of a strong leader of NA who has the proper authority to run this market. None of the current management has the makeup to be that leader.

Connie is not mentioned and I perceive her as the most senior person in their management team so keep an eye on her path.

I can see Connie continuing to move up, but that is not necessarily positive.

Don't interpret this wrong - I like Connie and she is capable in many ways. I sense, however, that she may not be a uniting force within Sage.

As near as I can tell by the announcement Connie is the SMB boss for NA and Paul is the SMB boss for Canada. Hard to tell if Nancy is truly going to remain as Interim or whether she will ascend. My guess is that Sage is going to bring in an ass kicker ala Sue Swenson though we will have to see.

Sure hope the ass kicker in charge speaks good English.

Focus!

Recall that Scheipe took over as Interim President (10/2015) from Jodi Uecker who herself had been Interim for 4 months. He was made ""permanent President"" in 2/2016. Now we get yet another Interim President. Jodi lasted 4 months, Marc about 13 months. Here we go again. It's dejavu all over.

Marc was a SRA IMHO. I introduced myself to him twice and both times he completely blew me off. The third time we met was at the 90 Minds meeting in Chicago where I was talking with Paige (RIP) and he completely interrupted the conversation, put his back in front of me and started talking with Paige. Good riddance!

@GaryFeldman That sounds like my experience with that French guy (I've already forgotten his name), who acted exactly like that. I only spoke with Marc at President's Circle and BPAC, so I suppose he imagined I deserved to speak with him.
