    Lost PC Charge Password: Client lost their PC Charge Verisign password. Of course Verisign says this is a Sage problem. Two guesses who Sage blames the issue on. 1. Anyone know what the default login name is for the super user? 2. I have notes on how to restore the TID and USER files -- naturally those can't be found either. Actually was able to restore but it appears when the account locks.

    Still ongoing - notes so far - called Sage who seems puzzled (as I suspected) why I would call them on this and not Verifone. Per Sage -- Contact @ Verifone - CATHIE DAME - 727-953-4584 cathie_d1@verifone.com Requested Sage to conference call me with Cathie -- Sage refused ""you shouldn't have a problem because my team deals with her"" Update - Sage say's they are conferencing me or calling Verifone for me...

    Just an update - finally got through to Verifone as Sage stayed on the line. Here's how the reset works: Verifone sends you a security.pcc with a password -- this is tied to your PC Charge serial number. Drop that file into the ACTIVE -CHARGE folder. You enter in the special password (it's on the email that PC Charge sends) once to get access to the CASHIER area from there you can unlock and change passwords (if you don't know the password for the MANAGER just double click the name and it prompts you for a password which looks filled in but you type over it and give it a new number). General PC Charge Password Rules: At least 7 characters One cap One special One number You'll be prompted every 90 days for a new password - have client write down

    Hmm, nowhere do I see in the solution that Sage had anything to do with the fix except listen in while Verifone tap danced. Perhaps this is another reason why the free CC module and Sage Payment Solutions make a better soluton than PC Charge. What are some reasons to stay with PC Charge and not switch?

    This wasn't all Sage's fault. Verifone was unwilling to help the client directly and Sage actually went out of their way to stay on the phone line and resolve this issue. However to your point @JeffSchwenk -- I was actively pitching these guys to move to SPS since I do not think it's in their best interest to be using a bolt on ({PC Charge) that has to be separately maintained, etc. If this were something like Starship where there was no other reasonable alternative I've probably have a different opinion -- but yes on the credit card side I feel that everyone should move to SPS.
