  • 1.  Lookup/Auto Complete - Customizable?

    v2018.  Customers do not like that when you start typing it looks for that combination of letters in a number of fields.  Would like it to just look at the name as it used too.  Any way to customize or turn off without turning Auto Complete completely off?

    1. Browse to the ..\MAS90\MAS_SYSTEM directory on the server
    2. Rename or Delete the Index_AC directory that was created
    3. The basic Auto-Complete will now be used

    I stopped setting this up for clients back in 2017.  In a way, I do like the multiple field searches.  BUT, the drop down window is limited to 10 ITEMS!!!!  So where is the value if the record you are looking for is # 13 in the list?  You will never see it.  PLUS you have to run the refresh frequently as added/changed records are not updated automatically.  Another great idea that was never completely thought through or updated beyond the initial "look at this great idea" release. ​​

    Check this Sage KB article on how to enable/disable auto-complete 


    Enable (or Disable) Auto-Complete in System Configuration:

    1. Open Library Master, Setup menu, System Configuration
    2. On the Preferences tab, select the Enable Auto-Complete <g class="gr_ gr_85 gr-alert gr_spell gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim ContextualSpelling ins-del" id="85" data-gr-id="85">check box</g> (or deselect to disable, if not desired)Note: Enabling the option allows access to the Auto-Complete tab and its settings in Library Master, Main menu, User Maintenance, Preferences tab. Disabling the option makes the Auto-Complete tab inaccessible.
    3. Click Accept


    Verify the User <g class="gr_ gr_86 gr-alert gr_spell gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim ContextualSpelling ins-del" id="86" data-gr-id="86">Logon</g> has Auto-Complete enabled (or disabled) in User Maintenance:

    1. Open Library Master, Main, User Maintenance
    2. Select the applicable User <g class="gr_ gr_87 gr-alert gr_spell gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim ContextualSpelling ins-del" id="87" data-gr-id="87">Logon</g> from <g class="gr_ gr_88 gr-alert gr_spell gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim ContextualSpelling ins-del" id="88" data-gr-id="88"><g class="gr_ gr_100 gr-alert gr_gramm gr_inline_cards gr_disable_anim_appear Grammar only-ins doubleReplace replaceWithoutSep" id="100" data-gr-id="100">look</g> up</g>
    3. Click on the Auto-Complete tab
    4. Select applicable Record Types (Customer, Item, Vendor) to enable <g class="gr_ gr_89 gr-alert gr_spell gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim ContextualSpelling ins-del" id="89" data-gr-id="89">Auto Complete</g>
    5. Click Accept


    If Auto-Complete still is not available after enabling it for users, please try the following:

    Note: All users in the affected companies must be out of the system

    1. Open Custom Office, <g class="gr_ gr_101 gr-alert gr_gramm gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim Grammar multiReplace" id="101" data-gr-id="101">Utilities</g> menu, Update Custom Panels to Current Level
    2. Select the Module, Task, Company, and User you want to update
    3. Click OK
    4. Print/Preview the <g class="gr_ gr_102 gr-alert gr_gramm gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim Grammar multiReplace" id="102" data-gr-id="102">Custom</g> Office Customizer Detail Report
    5. Open Custom Office, <g class="gr_ gr_103 gr-alert gr_gramm gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim Grammar multiReplace" id="103" data-gr-id="103">Utilities</g> menu, Rebuild Customizer Log
    6. Click OK


    Note: Use the respective lookup to search for Customer No, Vendor No, and/or Item No.

    Auto-Complete suggestions do not display when typing in Customer No, Vendor No or Item No fields.

    Additional information
     
    The Auto-Complete features <g class="gr_ gr_97 gr-alert gr_gramm gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim Grammar multiReplace" id="97" data-gr-id="97">looks</g> for:

    • Vendor Names (AP)
    • Customer Names (AR)
    • Item Descriptions (IM)

    See Help Menu for <g class="gr_ gr_96 gr-alert gr_gramm gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim Grammar only-ins replaceWithoutSep" id="96" data-gr-id="96">designed</g> purpose of this feature.

    Select this check box to enable the Auto-Complete feature. If this check box is selected, when you start typing a customer name, vendor name, or item description in a customer number, vendor number, or item code field, a list of records matching your entry appears, and you can select a record from the list. The list is filtered as you continue typing. You will still be able to select a record by entering the customer number, vendor number, or item code.

    Selecting this check box enables this feature for all users. You can then disable this feature on a field-by-field basis for individual users in User Maintenance. Clear this check box to disable the feature for all users.

    To use Enhanced <g class="gr_ gr_84 gr-alert gr_spell gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim ContextualSpelling ins-del" id="84" data-gr-id="84">Auto Complete</g> Feature available in current versions, go to Library Master, Utilities and run the Rebuild Search Index utility.

    Also, I don't know if this has been fixed but autocomplete with P<g class="gr_ gr_68 gr-alert gr_spell gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim ContextualSpelling ins-del multiReplace" id="68" data-gr-id="68">remium</g> is reportedly slow
