Looks like there's a price change coming for existing users. The most recent email about the branding also contained a note at the bottom of the page. Sage 100 ERP New Financials bundle at lower price. New Distribution bundle priced similarly to Sage ERP MAS 200. Elimination of price premium for SQL (effective March 1, 2012). One price includes choice of the Standard, Advanced, or Premium editions (formerly Sage ERP MAS 90, 200, or 200 SQL). No minimum or maximum number of users, and new volume discount structure with all users priced at the same tier level. For module based pricing, a price increase will be implemented across the Sage 100 ERP, Sage 300 ERP (US only), and Sage 500 ERP portfolio. With the new Financials bundle, the additional database and deployment options, and the simplified buying process, we anticipate customers to see more value in user based pricing. However, module based pricing will continue to be made available at a premium for those customers who prefer that option. Note that these changes are for new license sales and will not impact the Business Care price for existing customers.

Also notice that this invitation also reads: two new initiatives on the Sage Transformation Journey that will take effect on April 2, 2012: subscription pricing and increased partner and customer engagement for ERP products. Any guesses on what the ""increased partner and customer engagement"" will be?

I am guessing that this means if per module pricing rises that SLP rises which in turn means maintenance rises for existing users?

Update: Sage indicates on their announcement that business care for EXISTING user will remain the same. Also on the new pricing they indicate that users cannot change pricing method -- which I'm guessing means legacy users are locked on a per module pricing method.

@WayneSchulz - were you actually able to get the new pricing? There is a link in the email but for me it did not actually lead to the price sheet.

Yes you have to login and then click on the ""what's new"" in the upper right corner.

What is going to be interesting is how will Sage track new license or module purchase maintenance for existing users. If an existing user adds 5 users -- does that automatically switch their pricing to the new higher SLP across the board or is Sage going to do some hybrid computations where they track the original SLP? Call me crazy but I don't see Sage grandfathering users for much longer. In other words the existing user maintenance stays at the current level for the next year or two until the memo comes out ""in order to strategize and marginalize all remaining equalized and utilized existing user licenses across all of Sage we will now charge the same SLP to everyone for purposes of Business Care computations"" ...

Proofreading seems to be optional at Sage - Bill of Materials is listed as included in the Financials bundle. Also, I have a 5 user MAS 90 customer who just uses financials (doesn't even have VI) and their current maintenance bill is $1989 which is over $400 more than what it would be with this pricing. They should just go off maintenance for four years and then rebuy it - both the customer and Friendly Systems would come out ahead.

OK I just took a quick look at the modules included in the Financials bundle for the user based pricing and I do not see payroll listed? Maybe they are going to require you to purchase that seperately? Maybe Bill of Materials is really payroll?

@PhilMcIntosh , They don't have to rebuy. Every 6 months, Sage will be running a 'back on maintenance' promotion for 1/2 price and no penalties...
