Sage 100

Looking to removing Ascent from Sage 100 Standard 2014. Have walked through the steps provided by Ascent, yet when the data is migrated to Sage 100 Premium 2016, there are still remnants...causing system errors. Anyone dealt with this before? TIA!

When you say ""remnants"", what do you mean? Is it still requiring you to install Ascent on the target system? If so, you might check the SY0CTL.SOA table and look for the lower case L records to see if some of those still reference the old module.

The migration does not mention Ascent, yet in the modules listing all of the module enhancements are listed.

I see in the SY0CTl file the references, with the lover case L records. So, you think I can just remove those?

DFDM SY_ClassEnhancement.m4t, SY_Enhancement.m4t, and SY_EnhancementModule.m4t looking for Ascent entries... Also suggest checking CI_EnnhancementActivation.m4t for each of your companies... Of course, would be wise to back up MAS_System folder and perhaps your CI{Company} folders as a precaution....

@MichelleTaylor1, do not remove all the lower-case L records. The ones you want to remove are the ones which reference A/S. I believe that is probably the module code for the Ascent product. Also, as Randy has pointed out, look for records in SY_Enhancement and SY_ClassEnhancement that reference the Ascent developer code, which is ""514"". This will be part of the key in the enhancement tables.

not this time - the client is changing from Ascent to MSI and I'm just trying to remove Automated Services. I've done all the suggestions in this thread but it is still there in the modules listing and all the related fields still show up in PO entry. This thing has claws and isn't letting go!

Good luck @KateKrueger. We had a customer purchase MSI over two years ago and they are still not live.

While I don't have first hand experience with MSI, I have heard stories from other consultants which mirror Therese. Be very cautious and follow the progress closely.

I implemented MSI for a customer. We had to push MSI to get the project finished. So, make sure they stick to your schedule :)
