Sage 100

Looking for Sage 100 2017 add-on that stores multiple unit-of-measure conversions for each item. Customer deals with metals, so a yard of steel would be X lbs, a yard of aluminum Y lbs, pipes of various gauges, etc. IM-1038 only has one additional UM as alternate. Anyone seen this feature for Sage100?

So you want some std conversion instead of just putting it in on each item?

Multiple additional units of measure for each item - factors vary by item since they are weights. Std/Purchasing/Sales UM's are not enough.

But are you actually converting a particular item into more than 2 other units of measure? Because Item A can convert from YD to LB at 12.5676 and Item B can convert also from YD to LB at 8.7685 without any mods...

Many years ago I did a proposal for a steel company and had a problem with the issue you are describing. I looked at using both IM-1038 and IM-1097 Additional Pricing Tiers for Item Pricing. IM-1097 description: Adds new tiers, for a total of 20 tiers, to Customer and Item Pricing and Price Codes. Each tier can be based on a Unit Price or Flat Fee pricing method. Optionally, you may associate a standard comment line with each pricing tier and have that comment automatically added to a Sales Orders or Sales Order Invoice.

@BethBowers Can you please explain how Item A can convert from YD to LB at 12.5676 and Item B can also convert from YD to LB at 8.7685 without any mods? I have a need for this at one of my customers that has thousands of items that they convert from lbs to gallons and each item converts at a different factor.

@DougHiggs - You can set up the conversion factor for each item in Item Maintenance - you don't have to rely on the Unit of Measure Conversion table. I rarely fill in the U of M table for my clients because the majority do NOT have std conversions. Am assuming that they buy in one unit and store/sell in another?

I have a client that sells pipe. The Sales UOM is pieces but the Stock UOM is LB. We fancied up the invoice to show pieces, lbs, gauge and length to make everyone happy. Like @BethBowers, conversion is set at the item level.

They sell in several (seeing 4) units of measure.

Are you saying they can sell one item in four different units of measure??

Their modified version 3.6 system has that capacity.
