  • 1.  Long, Long Ago - Inventory Valuation Proof

    Posted 09-26-2024 18:28

Many years ago, I remember Sage publishing a document about Average Cost and how you could prove that Item with an Average Cost value was being calculated correctly.   Deloitte is now auditing one of our clients and is asking for proof that their Average Cost items are correct.  Has anyone seen that document?  If not, I'm guessing the best thing to do would be to print the Inventory Detail Transaction Report and manually show how the costs are calculated.

Same client:  When using Sales Kits with items that have different valuation methods, Deloitte wants to know what the cost methodology is for that Kitted item that is now sitting on the shelf waiting to be sold.  Help!

    TIA!

    Sue

Kit value depends on the valuation of the kit item, and how it was "made".  Eg. if the kit is Standard, there could be a manufacturing variance posted when doing BM production if the component costs add up to a different unit cost.
