  • 1.  Linking Files for VI Export

Client needs to export GL Detail Postings for the current year for budgeting purposes.  I have created an export for them but thought it would be nice to link in the GL Accounts file to snag the Account Description.  Sounds simple enough.  It accepts the link but error's out when I run the import. Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Here's the link setting:

Depending on the number of fields you need in the export, you may consider using Crystal reports to create and export the data.  it is easier to join tables in Crystal.

@Doug Higgs I'd rather do this in Access but this is all I have to work with.  Plus, linking two GL files on the AccountKey, I mean this should be easy peasy.

Change the "Sequence No." to "00" since no other links are defined.

I feel your frustration regarding Access.  Had to export a gazillion GL transactions last night without Access or Excel.  Extremely painful, managed with Crystal.

A free ODBC tool can be helpful sometimes.
