    Let me know if you've heard any additional details. From what I gather there may be one other person who has left.

    Maybe the Blytheco folks in OASIS can comment........................

    I emailed PR - though usually with this type of thing ""no comment"" is confirmation.

    For Ruth and Nick, it might be expiration of a 5-yr work out on the acquisition?

    Where did you hear it?

    I can't say but I can say that it was not from DSD or Taylor Macdonald.

    Judy, Ruth, Tim, Danny, Mike and Nicholas have all left the organization

    We're they all key Macdonald folks?

    I don't think so - Judy came in on another acquisition and I think Tim and Danny (Brothers?) were from Blytheco originally. Mike Augello might have been a MCG acquisition. Not really sure what's going on here -- though I could immediately theorize it was an easy way to cut $1.2 to $1.5 million of payroll.

    I have to imagine one of the big challenges of the larger super VARs is that they pick up a lot of mediocre clients that are low profitability (or even unprofitable).

    The death spiral is: 1. We're not busy 2. So we'll do this work (bid, underprice, etc) 3. And lose money at it 4. Goto # 1

    We've seen a dramatic drop in the amount of break/fix problems over the past 5 years. Making business from the rest is a different skill set. Sales to new customers is certainly different, too with those in the market asking different/harder questions than earlier. These would certainly slowly change the dynamics of how people at a larger firm execute; it certainly does at smaller ones. I wonder how much of this is related to adding non-Sage products to Blytheco's stable; might need some fresh blood to go with it?

    Anyone else notice that Lori Maloof ""liked"" the post of this news in the LinkedIn group? I always find it interesting when people ""like"" these types of posts and I cannot figure out what piece of it they actually ""liked"". Was it Wayne's writing style? Was it a big Sage partner letting go of people? Was it certain people in the announcement that she doesn't like and is happy that they are no longer employed (at least short-term)?

    Or happy for them that they are gone???

    You might be overthinking that. ""liking' is a way of sharing or promoting the article so that other's see it. Mainly because unlike the dying 'digg' site, there is no 'dislike' button. I generally liked Nicolas and Ruth. In my interactions they were extremely intelligent fair people. I might hazard a guess and say their honest business style conflicted with Steven's outlook...

    I think the point @PeterWolf is making is that this is the equivalent of someone liking a ""My dog died today"" post. It is probably intended to show sympathy but it reads like they are glad the dog died.

    Somethings just can't replace face to face conversation even with emoticons. My take on the like was that she liked Wayne's update. Has there been anything else published since?

    @BrianRice - ah-yup you are right.
