Launcher Window disappears immediately after logging in

  • 1.  Launcher Window disappears immediately after logging in

V2017 Adv running as a service.  New user was set up.  Setting for auto logoff is on.  Idle time is 60 minutes (or 45).  Immediately after logging into Sage, the launcher panel flashes then closes.  I log in as me and all is copacetic.  Turn off the auto logoff in user maintenance, user stays connected.  Turn it back on with a time limit, logs off immediately.  It seems to be related to the user as IT tried to log on at server and program terminated. I uninstalled/reinstalled client thinking original install crapped out somewhere.  Other users have auto logoff enable and they work fine.

    Thoughts.

    TIA

Interesting thought but everyone is on EST.  Plus the IT failed when he logged on at the server.

Give the user a new user code.

This just won't go away.  Client has three new workstations (WIN 10's) for new users.  Same problem,  If they log in, Sage terminates immediately.  If I log in immediately after, Sage remains open.  If we SWITCH user to their Sage log in from mine, the launcher remains open.  User profile preferences are identical to mine with the exception of the automatic log off.  Spawn tasks is selected.  User are back in action because the auto logoff is not selected.  Thoughts on what to look at next?

Had the exact same issue last week.

    Have all users exit Sage.

On the server, rename the sy_console and sy_launcher.  Open Sage100 again, and the files are freshly created.

FWIW, I think we found once when this was having to be done repeatedly, that there was not enough RAM on the server for the total number of users (not only Sage users).  If I recall, after login, I would describe what we saw as a flash of a screen, then a failure to launch the full product.

@Jeff Schwenk Did Moira's steps above correct this issue?  I have a client reporting a similar issue on their Terminal Server and I am looking into it now.  Our login and user work just fine. Thanks in advance.

As I recall, the auto logoff in user set up was the culprit.  Had to deselect the option.

I restarted a clients server due to complaints of slow performance. All users had exited and services stopped nut I am seeing these symptoms from the server, all stations, and even in Mas90 mode. I have run through all the suggestions in this thread. Any help worl be greatly appreciated.

Look at Windows event logs on the server and workstations.  I had something simple a couple of months ago.  Turned out to be a faulty NIC.

    Check this link.

Someone broadcast a system shut down from the Master Console, but has not terminated the shutdown.

Any one of the following will resolve this issue:

    1. Find the workstation where the shutdown was broadcast from and press the 'OK' button.
    2. Rename the 'Sage 100" folder under documents.
    3. Retrieve the "..\MAS90\MAS_SYSTEM\SY_System.m4t" from a recent backup, prior to the shutdown attempt.
    4. Access a different Sage 100 installation (if available), then use the Data File Display and Maintenance utility to Open and Edit the "..\MAS90\MAS_SYSTEM\SY_System.m4t" file in the problem installation, changing the BroadcastShutdown$ field from Y to N
      • Note: Sage 100 Customer Support can obtain a copy of the file, edit it, then return the file.
