  • 1.  Last Cost Update when using Receipt of Goods and Receipt of Invoice separately

    Hi Everyone,

    Has anyone got a fix or suggestion for updating the Last Cost with the cost used from Receipt of Invoice and NOT Receipt of Goods entry.

    We are looking for accurate costing information.  Currently when a receipt of goods is entered if the user does not have the correct cost (the user is the warehouse receipt person) they receive the goods and it is expected that when the invoice is entered with the correct cost the Last Cost field is updated - this does not happen.

    Any thoughts would be gladly appreciated.

    I'm not sure if we can trigger a user-defined-script after the POR update process, but maybe you could run a job (BOI script?) every night that goes over every Invoice line received that day and overwrites the LastCost field?

    Or, if you don't want to mess with the standard Sage logic, do something similar to the above saving to a new user-defined-field (LastCostInvoice)

    Why are there cost variances?  Typically the cost is agreed upon prior to or at the time the PO is entered.  If the vendor invoice is different than the PO then the vendor should be contacted to find out why.

    I have this issue with a Job Cost client.  DSD is using enhancement PO-1031 with custom programming to solve this issue for our customer.

    I have a somewhat-similar request:  Is there a way for the item's average cost to be updated during PO Receipt for drop-ship items?
