KnowledgeSync...Customer wants weekly income statement to be generated through KnowledgeSync. They own KS. Problem is they use the Standard financials which must be run from within MAS. I was thinking of using the basic reports from the Report Manager SMI license is the way to go without them having to buy more pieces. Those reports can be saved as a file (or could be emailed without the use of KS). Any other workarounds?

Ksync shines at responding to conditions and events. When used for mundane, it doesn't look so hot. Besides, the customer can get almost what they want from the BI Dashboard. So, how about this. - ksync triggers a weekly income statement highlights - abbreviated. perhaps showing a variance to budget.. You could get fancy and set up several, depending on the person/dept who is receiving. - in the ksync message is a link to the BID. They can drill down there. - I think you can also create a link to the SIR (what they now call SMI) which has the full weekly report and drill down. From my perspective, I try to get customers to think more about results that show exception, over or under, to explore in near-real-time. So, trying to develop data announcements that highlight that, and then easily move them to parts of the system they can interactively report with is pretty useful.

Alan, all I had mind was hard-coding the link to the BID in the email alert text body. I don't think it needs to change with the data. Nothing fancy.
